How to Find Your Deviceโs MAC Address
๐ What Is a MAC Address?
A MAC (Media Access Control) address is a unique identifier for your device's network interface card. IT teams often need this to allow or restrict device access on a network.

Step 1: Open the Settings menu
Step 2: Navigate to โ General โ Network Settings
Step 3: Select Advanced Settings
๐ฆ PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4
Step 1: Go to Settings
Step 2: Select โ System โ System Software โ Console Information
๐ด Nintendo Switch
Step 1: From the Home screen, go to System Settings
Step 2: Select Internet โ Internet Settings
Step 3: Choose your active network and scroll down

Step 1: Press the Home button on the remote
Step 2: Go to โ Settings โ General โ Network
Step 3: Choose Network Status

Step 1: Open the Command Prompt
Press Windows Key + R
Type cmd
and press Enter
Step 2: Run the IP Configuration Command
In the Command Prompt window, type:
ipconfig /all
Step 3: Locate Your MAC Address
Look for "Physical Address" under your active network adapter (e.g., Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
Format: XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX
(e.g., 00-1A-2B-3C-4D-5E
)
๐ macOS (Ventura and newer)
Step 1: Open System Settings
Step 2: Select Your Network Interface
Step 3: Find Your MAC Address
๐ฑ iPhone โ Find the MAC Address (Even with Private Addressing)
To locate the MAC address your iPhone uses when connecting to the Hotchkiss-Registered network:
Open the Settings App.
Tap Wi-Fi.

Locate the Hotchkiss-Connect network in the list.
Tap the โ info icon next to Hotchkiss-Connect.

On the next screen, you'll see:
Private Wi-Fi Address: A toggle switch (if enabled, iOS generates a unique MAC address per network).
Wi-Fi Address: This is the MAC address being used for this network. It looks like A1:B2:C3:D4:E5:F6
.
โ ๏ธ Note: Even if private addressing is on, this is the actual MAC the network sees.

To use your device's real hardware MAC address instead:
Toggle Private Wi-Fi Address off.
Disconnect and reconnect to Hotchkiss-Connect.
A prompt may appear: tap Rejoin to reconnect using the real MAC address.
After reconnecting, the Wi-Fi Address field will now show your true MAC address.
๐ค Android โ Find the MAC Address (Randomized or Real)
To find the MAC address your Android phone is using on the Hotchkiss-Registered network:
Open the Settings App.
Tap Network & Internet (or Connections, depending on device).
Tap Wi-Fi.
Connect to or tap on Hotchkiss-Connect (must have attempted to connect at least once).
Tap the gear icon โ๏ธ or info icon โ next to the network name.

Scroll to find:

To use your real hardware MAC address:
Tap Privacy or MAC address type.
Select Use device MAC or Phone MAC.
Disconnect and reconnect to Hotchkiss-Connect.
After reconnecting, the listed MAC address is now your actual physical MAC.
