Hotchkiss-Residential & Hotchkiss-Connect Wireless Network– Instructions & Overview
We are excited to announce a new and improved wireless network system for faculty residences and approved personal devices such as game systems. Here is a visual guide that serves as an overview of the process:

🔗 Connecting Devices That Support Username/Password Network Logins
Network Name: Hotchkiss-Residential
Select Hotchkiss-Residential
from your list of available Wi-Fi networks.
-
When prompted, enter your Hotchkiss username and password.
-
Accept the security certificate.
💡 Important Note:
Although Hotchkiss-Residential
is a shared network name across campus, each user is placed on a private and secure virtual network after logging in. This ensures your devices and activity remain isolated and secure—just like the previous "LastnameFamily" networks.
🎮 Connecting Devices That Do Not Support Username/Password Network Logins
For devices that cannot connect using a username and password (e.g., smart TVs, game consoles, streaming sticks):
You must be connected to Hotchkiss-Residential, or Hotchkiss-Secure to get to connect.hotchkiss.org in order to register another device. Any newly registered devices may also need to be restarted to function properly on the Hotchkiss-Connect network.
On a computer or mobile device already connected to the network, go to:
👉 connect.hotchkiss.org (only available on campus)
(You must be on an internal network such as Hotchkiss-Secure, Hotchkiss-Public is not an internal network)
Log in with your Hotchkiss credentials.
Register your device by entering its MAC address. (How to find your device's MAC address)
Once registered, connect the device to the:
Hotchkiss-Connect
network.
Newly registered devices may need to be restarted in order to function properly.
Note: Devices that need to interact with your registered device (like a laptop printing to a wireless printer) do not need to be on Hotchkiss-Connect. As long as the registered device is on Hotchkiss-Connect, your other devices can remain on Hotchkiss-Residential
👩🎓 For Proctors and Seniors
Students who are proctors or seniors may also use connect.hotchkiss.org to register game consoles and similar devices.
After registering, these devices can connect to Hotchkiss-Connect
just like in faculty residences.
🔌 Need to Plug into a Wired Port? (Faculty Residences Only)
If you have a device that requires a wired Ethernet connection, this may be accommodated depending on the availability of active ports in your residence.
